Slightly worried about Brighton...
What will it do to our season if Brighton batter us?
They just beat Watford comfortably. It seems like they have a new attitude to things and its not like we do well against them normally.

We really need to beat them otherwise its going to feel like we are going backwards.

Do we have to change formation a bit to make sure we dont get battered?

It's going to be an interesting game. Their fans are already talking up a top ten finish on the strength of one good result, while most of ours are all doom and gloom. Would be good to bring them back down to earth but we will certainly need to be up for it.

Not worried.

They are a bit of a bogey team, but player for player we should comfortably have enough, even after that bad start. First day is always a bit weird as well, so I wouldn't read too much into it.

As I didn't watch their game, I've no idea if they were brilliant or Watford were shit, whether they were playing a different style of more attacking game or the usual 10 men behind the ball frustrating teams etc. etc.

Should we get a hiding off them, then I may worry.

Three distinct defensive errors on the first goal

Slack marking on the second.

And through ball straight through ball for the third after pushing up.

Watford should have equalized at 1-1 with some poor defending of Brighton's own but could not finish.

So we need to be bright and ready but we can do them.

Sounds like Watford were a bit shit then!

Not really worried TBH. If we play like the first half against Man City, we should win.

Hoping Brighton score for us then?

Forget last Saturday. Looking at the teams we should best Brighton but I've thought that for the last two seasons.

Glen Murray who always scores and the Lad Maupay who we were heavily linked with, also bound to score

Re: Slightly worried about Brighton...
I think the game is important because it's kind of going to be a judgement on what MP has been doing for the past year.

We have a fully fit squad, spent well, full pre-season etc... We have to controll this game from start to finish. We cant wing it, and get some jammy result.

And if that doesnt happen, we cant say "give him time" etc.. as he's had enough time.

This isnt a top 6/7 club that we might not expect a result. This is 100% a team we have spent all this money on to dominate. The only other variable is that its an away game. But with us, I have no idea whether being away or at home matters.

I think the Watford result is the worst thing that could have happened to them.
The GIDDY GAYS will think they are Barcelona and come at us.

There are a few teams who we owe big time - Brigton being one of them.

Part of me likes the fact that underdogs (like we are too) do well and fair play to them, they have.

But enough is enough.

Come on West Ham United - beat the cunts!!!

Re: Slightly worried about Brighton...
We have regularly under rated Brighton. They are not Man City where none of our starting eleven would have got in their first eleven. Rather it’s almost the other way around where a best eleven of the two teams would see a majority of our players selected.

Brighton will make up for that though with effort and commitment. Slow starts to games and slow starts to seasons have been our stock in trade in recent years but next Saturday’s could be a better indication of our level than last week’s humiliation.

So you would fire him if we lose?

El Scorchio - Well yeah but we didn't create a single chance so how will we win if we play like that?

"So you would fire him if we lose?"

No , not at all. I like him.

But it will put a lot of pressure on him which I think will be detrimental to his ability to succeed here.

When people around you stop believing in you then its downhill from there.
